Fact finding visits to other EU institutions to increase networking, FUNCROPS group

Dr Dragana Rančić, Assistant Professor (FUNCROPS group) visited BOKU - University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Department of Material Sciences and Process Engineering, Institute of Physics and Material Sciences, Austria, from 25th to 28th  September 2014. The aim of visit was to inform researchers from Institute of Physics and Material Sciences about AREA activity, aiming to increase AREA networking and finding partners for future collaboration. WP1 activity, Fact Finding Visit.

Training in DNA-based technologies

Dr. Dragana Božić, assistant professor (WEEDSCI group), has finished training in DNA-based technologies. The training was organized at School of Agriculture, Policy and Development, University of Reading, Reading, UK from 7th July to 12th September 2014, under the supervision of Dr. Paul Hadley and Dr. George Gibbings. The aim of training was to learn molecular methods suitable for testing target site weed/crop resistance to herbicides and apply molecular methods for studies gene flow from herbicide tolerant crops to wild/weedy relatives.

Dr Aleksandra Bulajić, Associate Professor (MICRODIAG group) visited Agrocampus-Ouest, UMR1345 Institut de Recherche en Horticulture et Semences, SFR 4207 QUASAV, Angers, France, from 15 to 21 September 2014. The aim of visit was to inform researchers and colleagues from Agrocampus-Ouest about AREA activity, in order to increase AREA networking and finding partners for future research projects. Dr Ljiljana Prokic, Assistant Professor (PLANTPHYS group) visited Department Lancaster Environmental Centre, Lancaster University United Kingdom, from 6  to 16 July 2014. The aim of visit was to inform researchers from Lancaster University about AREA activity, aiming to increase AREA networking and finding partners for future collaboration. WP1 activity, Fact Finding Visit.

 

Training in RAMAN microscopy

Ivana Todorović, PhD student (BIODIV research team), completed the training for implementation of vibrational spectroscopy in plant and agricultural research. The training took place at the Institute for Physical Chemistry, Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (Germany), from 2nd June to 11th August 2014, under the supervision of Dr. Petra Rösch.

New COST Action

Assist. Prof. Jelena Miočinović (FOODTECH group) joined the COST Action FA 1308 “DairyCare” as a MS Member. This Action focus on the talents, skills and resources of researchers, industry partners and stakeholders in the dairy-foods chain onto the topic of dairy animal health and welfare (www.dairycareaction.org).

Training in DNA-based technologies

Dr Ivana Stanković, assistant professor (MICRODIAG group), has finished training in DNA-based technologies. The training was organized at Dipartimento di Scienze del Suolo della Pianta e degli Alimenti, Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Bari, Italy from 22nd March to 31st June 2014, under the supervision of Dr Donato Gallitelli and Dr Tiziana Mascia. The aim of the training was to acquire knowledge and skills of molecular characterization of Serbian isolates of Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV).
