Dr Zorka Dulić, associate professor (AQUACARP group) completed the training in molecular-based technologies. Training was organized by Nofima Institute in As, Norway, from the 4the of March to 16th of May. The training aims included: Isolation of RNA from selected tissues i.e. intestines, and time points using Trizol method and PureLink Pro 96 RNA purification kit, evaluation of RNA quality using Nanodrop, cDNA synthesis using RealTime PCR and analysis of gene expression using SYBR green reagents.

Dr Ilinka Pećinar, teaching and research assistant at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade (AREA group: FUNCROPS), has finished her second training in Raman microscopy. The training was organized at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany, from 1th March to 29st April 2015, under the supervision of Dr. Petra Rösch, research associate. Aim of the training was to obtain new knowledge necessary for using Raman microscopy in fruit tissue of two different tomato genotypes were grown at optimal and deficit irrigation treatments.
PhD student IvanaPetrovic (PLANTPHYS group) completed the training in DNA-based technologies. Training was organized at Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA), Avignon, France, from 28th January to 28th March 2015, under the supervision of Dr. Nadia Bertini and DrMathildeCausse. Aim of this training was to learn new skills and methods that can be applied in plant stress physiology and introducing to new approaches in plant stress physiology research, with special attention to genetic base of plant response to drought stress.
Dr Steva Lević, teaching and research assistant at University of Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture (IMMOBIOG), has finished training in Raman microscopy. The training was realized at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany, from 15th January to 13th April 2015, under the supervision of Dr. Petra Rösch, research associate. The aim of the training was to obtain basic knowledge and skills for application of Raman microscopy for analysis of encapsulates as well as carrier materials and active compounds.
Bogdan Mladenović (WP 5 and INTPRO group leader) visited EC Office, Brussels, Ghent University, Ghent, and European Food Information Council, Brussels, Belgium, from 16-20 March 2015. The aim of the visit was to establish networking, exchange experience and to discuss the opportunities for future collaboration with the Technology Transfer Office at the Ghent University (Belgium).The other meeting was organized in the Rectorate of the University of Ghent with the aim to discuss the possibility to prepare collaborative educational ERASMUS project.
Professor Radmila Stikić (Project coordinator and PLANTPHYS group leader) visited EC Office, Brussels, Ghent University, Ghent, and European Food Information Council, Brussels, Belgium, from 16-20 March 2015. The aim of the visit in Brussels was to discuss with AREA Project officers Annamaria Zonno and Adriana Ocovanova in EC Office in Brussels about project`s report and future activities. The aim of visit to Ghent was to exchange experience in WP5 activities and to discuss the opportunities for future collaboration with the Ghent University.
Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade is organizing Workshop „AREA Networking“. The overall objective of the Workshop, as an stimulating forum for exchange of ideas and experience, is to provide information about research topics in the area of agricultural and food sciences for future collaboration of AREA teams with the relevant potential EU, national and regional partnering institutions and SMEs.
