Training in RAMAN microscopy

Ivana Todorović, PhD student (BIODIV research team), completed the training for implementation of vibrational spectroscopy in plant and agricultural research. The training took place at the Institute for Physical Chemistry, Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (Germany), from 2nd June to 11th August 2014, under the supervision of Dr. Petra Rösch.

New COST Action

Assist. Prof. Jelena Miočinović (FOODTECH group) joined the COST Action FA 1308 “DairyCare” as a MS Member. This Action focus on the talents, skills and resources of researchers, industry partners and stakeholders in the dairy-foods chain onto the topic of dairy animal health and welfare (www.dairycareaction.org).

Training in DNA-based technologies

Dr Ivana Stanković, assistant professor (MICRODIAG group), has finished training in DNA-based technologies. The training was organized at Dipartimento di Scienze del Suolo della Pianta e degli Alimenti, Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Bari, Italy from 22nd March to 31st June 2014, under the supervision of Dr Donato Gallitelli and Dr Tiziana Mascia. The aim of the training was to acquire knowledge and skills of molecular characterization of Serbian isolates of Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV).

Training in DNA-based technologies

Dr Igor Kljujev, Assistant Professor at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, AREA group: MICROBECOL, finished training visit for DNA-based technologies in Helmholtz Zentrum Munchen, AMP Research Unit Microbe-Plant Interaction in period from 08.03.2014 to 30.05.2014. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Anton Hartmann. 

During his visit, Dr Igor Kljujev worked on application of molecular methods in investigation of colonization wheat root by two Salmonella strains, Salmonella enterica Weltevreden and Salmonella eneterica Typhimurium LT2.

Training in RAMAN microscopy

Dr Božidar Rašković, assistant professor and member of the AQUACARP group, has finished training in Raman microscopy. The training was organized at the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Abbe Center of Photonics, Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany, from 10th March to 01st June 2014, under the supervision of Dr. Petra Rösch. The aim of the training was to acquire some basic knowledge of using Raman microscope in fish tissues, especially in the muscles of the different kind of frozen fish fillets.

Training in RAMAN microscopy

Aleksandar Nedeljković, PhD student (FOODTECH group) completed training in Raman microspectroscopy. Training visit was conducted from 10th March to 31st May 2014 at Institute for Physical Chemistry, Friedrich Schiller University, Jena (Germany) under supervision of Dr Petra Röesch, research associate. Overall aim of the training was to obtain basic knowledge and skills necessary for using Raman and FTIR spectroscopy in analysis of foodstuffs, especially dairy products.
