Trainining in RAMAN microscopy

Dr Steva Lević, teaching and research assistant at University of Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture (IMMOBIOG), has finished training in Raman microscopy. The training was realized at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany, from 15th January to 13th April 2015, under the supervision of Dr. Petra Rösch, research associate. The aim of the training was to obtain basic knowledge and skills for application of Raman microscopy for analysis of encapsulates as well as carrier materials and active compounds.

Fact finding visit_Bogdan Mladenović

Bogdan Mladenović (WP 5 and INTPRO group leader) visited EC Office, Brussels, Ghent University, Ghent, and European Food Information Council, Brussels, Belgium, from 16-20 March 2015. The aim of the visit was to establish networking, exchange experience and to discuss the opportunities for future collaboration with the Technology Transfer Office at the Ghent University (Belgium).The other meeting was organized in the Rectorate of the University of Ghent with the aim to discuss the possibility to prepare collaborative educational ERASMUS project.

Activities covering Work Package 6. and Work Package 1. Deliverable 1.5.

Professor Radmila Stikić (Project coordinator and PLANTPHYS group leader) visited EC Office, Brussels, Ghent University, Ghent, and European Food Information Council, Brussels, Belgium, from 16-20 March 2015. The aim of the visit in Brussels was to discuss  with AREA Project officers Annamaria Zonno and  Adriana Ocovanova in EC Office in Brussels about project`s report and future activities. The aim of visit to Ghent was to exchange experience in WP5 activities and to discuss the opportunities for future collaboration with the Ghent University.

Workshop „AREA Networking“

Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade is organizing Workshop „AREA Networking“. The overall objective of the Workshop, as an stimulating forum for exchange of ideas and experience, is to provide information about research topics in the area of agricultural and food sciences for future collaboration of AREA teams with the relevant potential EU, national and regional partnering institutions and SMEs.

Training in DNA-based technologies

Nemanja Mirković, PhD student (FOODTECH group), has finished Training course on DNA, RNA and protein based analyses of food matrices and their application in food science. The training was organized at Department of Life Sciences,  Parma University, Parma, Italy from 13th October to 13th December 2014 under supervision of Dr. Nelson Marmiroli and Dr. Elena Maestri. The training was consisted of lectures and laboratory trainings, including individual work which involved report preparation, literature reading, preparation of seminars and journal clubs.

Training in DNA-based technologies

PhD student, Milica Pavlićević (FOODBIOCHEM group) completed the training in DNA-based technologies. Training was done at Department of Life Sciences, University of Parma (Italy) in a period 13th October to 13th December 2014, under supervision of Prof. Nelson Marmiroli and Prof. Elena Maestri. Aim of training was to learn new methods for extraction and quantification of nucleic acids from food matrixes that could be used for analysis of food quality. Special attention was paid to comparison of different methods for extraction and quantification of nucleic acids.
